What is required to create your portraits?

To create a detailed drawing or painting a good quality photograph is required. This means one where the subject is in focus (particularly the head) and reasonably close to the camera. You can combine different parts from different photographs eg different animals, collars etc, or omit details. If your images are in digital format e.g JPEG’s or bitmaps (JPEG’s are preffered) they need to be quite high resolution images to show details. When scanning you need to set your scanner to at least 300dpi or higher. Photographs can be posted, but please protect them with plastic and a hard backed envelope!

How To Commission

Step 1.

To order contact sarah first to discuss your requirements.

Step 2.

Send your photographs either by post or email and Sarah will confirm with you what you would like her to do.

Step 3.

At this stage you send a cheque for 20% of the agreed price or Paypal if you are overseas, and your work will be booked into Sarah's timetable. You will given an estimated time for completion which will depend on the workload at the time (2-3 weeks drawings, 6 weeks paintings, 6-8 weeks sculptures).

Please note that the run up to Christmas is a very busy time so you will need to book early if you want your gift ready for Christmas, or you may like to consider a Gift Voucher from the online shop.

Step 4.

When the art work is ready you will be sent a photograph of the art work for your approval. When you are completely satisfied you can send the balance either by cheque, Paypal, or Google Checkout and your portrait, along with original photographs will be sent to you.
